May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a month that’s dedicated to increasing awareness about the importance of prevention, early detection, and treatment of skin cancer.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. Fortunately, it’s also one of the most preventable forms of cancer.
One in five Americans will develop skin cancer over the course of a lifetime. Thirteen million Americans are living with a history of nonmelanoma skin cancer, and nearly 800,000 Americans are living with a history of melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer.
